Installation & Best Practices

1) Inspect Components Before Assembly

Ensure the clamp halves, ferrule flanges, and gasket are clean, dry, and free of burrs or scratches. A damaged gasket or dirty flange face is the primary cause of system leaks.

2. )Proper Alignment First

Align the two ferrule flanges perfectly parallel before placing the clamp over them. Never use the clamp to pull misaligned pipes together, as this creates uneven stress and premature gasket failure.

3.) Torque & Tightening Guidelines

Single Pin Wing Nuts: Hand-tighten firmly, then use a leverage tool via the cross-hole if higher torque is required for medium-pressure lines. Do not over-tighten with heavy tools to avoid stripping threads.

High Pressure Tri Clamp 13MHP: Always tighten the dual bolts evenly and incrementally (alternating between both sides) using a torque wrench. Target standard torque: 20 ft-lbs (or according to your spec sheet).
